Things to Do at Natura Cabana: Weekly Events, Yoga, Market & More

If you're looking for things to do in Cabarete beyond kitesurfing and surfing, Natura Cabana is one of those places worth having on your list.

Located in the Perla Marina area, between Cabarete and Sosúa, Natura Cabana is a beachfront boutique hotel surrounded by tropical gardens. But you don't necessarily need to be staying there to experience it.

Come for a yoga class in the morning, book a spa treatment, have breakfast or lunch by the beach, visit the monthly Natura Market, or make a Saturday evening out of dinner and live music.

Natura Cabana also has a rotating calendar of wellness workshops, DJs, special dinners and other events, so there is often something different happening throughout the month.

Here are some of the regular Natura Cabana events and things to do to know about.

Thursday: Sunset & Sounds at Natura Cabana

Thursday evenings are worth checking if you're looking for something a little different from the nightlife in downtown Cabarete.

Natura Cabana regularly hosts Sunset & Sounds, an evening built around sunset, music, drinks and the property's tropical beachfront setting.

Events typically start around 6:00 PM, with guest DJs changing depending on the week.

It's a good option if you want music and a social atmosphere without necessarily heading to a club. Have a drink, stay for dinner and enjoy a slower start to your Thursday night.

Schedules can change, so check the current Natura Cabana schedule or the KITEBARETE Events Calendar for the next date.

Saturday: Live Music by the Ocean

Saturday evenings bring live music to Natura Cabana.

Live performances take place at Natura Restaurant, with dinner, drinks and the ocean in the background. The regular Saturday program runs from around 7:00 to 9:30 PM, although the musicians and style of music can change from week to week.

Some Saturdays feature jazz sessions, while others bring different local musicians and bands.

If you're deciding what to do in Cabarete on a Saturday night but don't necessarily want to go clubbing, this is a good alternative.

And you can always head into Cabarete afterward if you want the night to continue.

One Sunday a Month: Natura Market

One of Natura Cabana's best-known recurring events is the Natura Market, held on the first Sunday of each month (the dates can vary so always check on their Instagram account @naturacabana).

The market brings together local artisans, small businesses, food, handmade products, clothing, art and other vendors in a relaxed setting close to the ocean.

It's as much a social event as it is a market. Come for the market, browse the stands, have something to eat and make a Sunday afternoon out of it.

Because this event happens monthly rather than every Sunday, always check the date before heading over.

Start Your Day With Yoga

Natura Cabana has long been associated with yoga and wellness in Cabarete.

Its open-air Yoga Temple is surrounded by tropical vegetation and located close enough to the ocean that your soundtrack is basically the waves and the breeze.

Regular yoga and fitness classes take place throughout the week, and the schedule can include different styles and instructors depending on the season.

You don't need to build your whole vacation around wellness either. A yoga class followed by breakfast or brunch by the beach makes for a very good slow morning in Cabarete, especially on a day when you're taking a break from kiting or surfing.

Check their current weekly schedule before going, as classes and times can change.

Book a Spa Treatment

If your body needs a break after a few days of kitesurfing, surfing or traveling, Natura Cabana is also home to Attabeyra Spa.

The spa fits naturally into the rest of the property, with treatments centered around relaxation and wellness in a tropical setting.

This is an easy activity to combine with yoga, lunch or some time by the beach rather than treating the spa as a separate trip.

Have Breakfast, Lunch or Dinner

You can also visit Natura Cabana simply to eat.

The property has two restaurants, with options throughout the day and a focus on fresh ingredients and locally inspired food.

For us, this is what makes Natura Cabana particularly easy to add to a Cabarete itinerary: you don't necessarily need an event as an excuse to go.

Do yoga and stay for breakfast. Book a massage and have lunch afterward. Or arrive in the evening for dinner before Saturday's live music.

Make It a Wellness Morning

If you have a free morning in Cabarete, this is probably how we'd do Natura Cabana:

1. start with a yoga or fitness class

2. follow it with a spa treatment if you really want to slow down

3. then have a beachfront breakfast or brunch.

After a few days of wind, waves and activities around Cabarete, having one slower morning is sometimes exactly what you need. And you still have the entire afternoon for the beach.

You Can Visit Without Staying at the Hotel

This is worth mentioning because many visitors assume Natura Cabana is only for hotel guests.

It isn't.

Depending on what you want to do, you can visit for its restaurants, yoga and wellness experiences, spa, events or market. Natura Cabana also offers day-pass options for visitors who want to spend more time enjoying the property and its facilities.

That makes it an easy half-day or full-day activity if you're staying elsewhere around Cabarete.

More Special Events Throughout the Year

The weekly and monthly schedule isn't the whole story.

Natura Cabana regularly hosts additional wellness workshops, yoga experiences, special dinners, music events and seasonal activities.

That means it's one of those places where checking what's happening during your actual travel dates is worthwhile.

We've also added Natura Cabana events to the KITEBARETE Events Calendar, together with live music, markets, water sports competitions, festivals and other things happening around Cabarete.

Is Natura Cabana Worth Visiting?

If you like nature, wellness, fresh food and places where you can slow down for a few hours, yes. Also because in our opinion their menu at the on-site beachfront restaurant is DELICIOUS! We recommend everything, from breakfast to lunch and dinner.

Natura Cabana offers something quite different from central Cabarete. Instead of kites on the water, busy beach bars and the energy of downtown, you get tropical gardens, wellness, food and a quieter stretch of coastline.

And you don't have to choose one or the other.

That's part of what makes the North Coast special: you can spend the afternoon kitesurfing in Cabarete and the next morning doing yoga surrounded by palm trees just a few minutes away.
